DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn volleyball team returned to action Wednesday night, playing host to the Aquinas College Saints in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference match-up.
The two clubs would split the opening sets, however the Saints would edge out the Wolverines in the final two sets, defeating UM-Dearborn 25-17, 23-25, 25-21, 25-19. The loss drops the Wolverines to 8-23 overall and 6-14 in the WHAC.
Leading UM-Dearborn was Gina Giacomini and Kielee Tondryk with 11 and nine kills, respectively. Sabrina Giacomini recorded 28 assists, while Kenzie Mertz would add a match-high 23 digs.
Aquinas College was led by Meredith Kraus with 15 kills and Chloe Mitchell with 28 assists.
The Wolverines return to action against the Lawrence Tech University Blue Devils on Senior Day at 1pm Saturday at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse in Dearborn, Mich.
