Madonna tops Wolverines in three sets

LIVONIA, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn volleyball team returned to conference action Wednesday night, traveling to the Madonna University Crusaders in a WHAC matchup.

The Wolverines would fall in a three-set sweep to Madonna University 14-25, 15-25, and 23-25. The Crusaders controlled the first two sets, however the Wolverines pressed in the third but were not able to rally as the Crusaders pull away to victory. The loss drops the Wolverines to 6-17 overall and 3-8 in the WHAC.

UM-Dearborn was led by Regan Sliwinski with six kills, while Gina Giacomini would add five of her own. Sabrina Giacomini would add a team-high 11 assists, while Kenize Mertz would record eight digs.

The Crusaders were led by Jodie Kelly with 13 kills and Jordyn Dawson with 26 assists, both match-highs. 

UM-Dearborn returns to action against the Siena Heights University Saints at 7pm Friday at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse in Dearborn, Mich.
