Saints top Wolverines in three sets

Grand Rapids, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn volleyball team returned to action Tuesday night, traveling to the west side of the state to take on the Aquinas College Saints in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference matchup. 

The Wolverines would fall in a three-set sweep to the Saints 19-25, 19-25, and 20-25. UM-Dearborn would claw back to get within three in points in every set, however Aquinas College would find a way to take it in the end on its way to victory. The loss drops the Wolverines to 5-12 overall and 3-6 in the WHAC.

UM-Dearborn was led by Kielee Tondryk with 10 kills, while Regan Sliwinski and Brooke Wetherill would each add five kills of their own. Regan Rose would add 15 assists, while Kenize Mertz recorded a match-high 14 digs.

Emily Jones led the Saints with 10 kills, while Cassie Sustrich added a match-high 27 assists.

UM-Dearborn returns to action against the Lawrence Tech Blue Devils at 7pm tomorrow night at the Don Ridler Fieldhouse in Southfield, Mich.
