Wolverines outpace Racers, 3-1

DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn volleyball team returned to action with its second match in two days, playing host to the University of Northwestern Ohio Racers in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference matchup. 

The Wolverines bounced back after falling to Indiana Tech in three sets the previous night, winning in four sets 20-25, 25-13, 25-18, 25-22. The victory improves UM-Dearborn to 5-11 overall and 3-5 in the WHAC.

Gina Giacomini and Kielee Tondryk led the way for the Wolverines, registering 10 kills each. Regan Rose and Sabrina Giacomini added 23 and 19 assists, respectively, while Kenize Mertz had a match-high 31 digs.

Nevaeh Shugart lead the Racers with 13 kills, while Mailys Silvestre added 35 assists, both match-highs. 

UM-Dearborn returns to action against the Aquinas College Saints on Tuesday, October 5th at 7pm in Grand Rapids, Mich.
