Wolverines fall in four sets to Blue Devils

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn volleyball team returned to action with its second game in as many nights, traveling to take on the Lawrence Tech Blue Devils in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference matchup. 

The Wolverines would fall in four sets to the Blue Devils 23-25, 24-26, 25-21, and 14-25. The first three sets were closely contested, however Lawrence Tech would control the fourth set, dropping the Wolverines record to 5-13 overall and 3-7 in the WHAC.

UM-Dearborn was led by Kielee Tondryk with 13 kills, while Regan Sliwinski and Gina Giacomini would each add eight and seven kills, respectively. Regan Rose would add 15 assists, while Kenize Mertz recorded a match-high 19 digs. Sabrina Giacomini would add 13 assists and Delany Smith recorded 14 kills for the Wolverines.

Lindsay Hubler led the Blue Devils with a match-high 21 kills, while Nicole Whan added a match-high 27 assists.

UM-Dearborn will take a break from conference play with two games against on Friday against Bethel (IN) at 4pm and Saint Xavier at 8pm. The Wolverines will then take on the No.7 ranked Marian University Knights at 1pm. All games are apart of the Grace Tourney, taking place in Winona Lake, Ind.
