Wolverines Fall in Exhibition

DETROIT, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's basketball team made the short trip up the road to the Wayne State Fieldhouse to take on NCAA Division II Wayne State in an exhibition on Wednesday (Nov. 1). Turnovers plagued the Wolverines as the Warriors forced the Wolverines into 29 turnovers. 

 

India Grissom led the Wolverines with 11 points on 4-11 shooting from the floor. Maya Barakat chipped in seven points while hauling in a game-high 12 rebounds and three blocks. Morgan Miller was effective from deep as she cashed in two triples for the Maize & Blue. 

 

The Warriors scored 31 points off Wolverine turnovers and outscored the Wolverines 58-10 in the paint. 

 

As a team, the Maize & Blue shot 12-51 from the field and 6-23 from behind the arc. 

 

The Wolverines will return to regular season action on Sunday (Nov. 5) as they take on Penn State Schuylkill in a non-conference matchup at Point Park University. Tip-off is set for 3 pm.
