Wolverines suffer set back against Madonna

BEVERLY HILLS, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's lacrosse team returned to action by taking on the Madonna University Crusaders Wednesday night at the Detroit Country Day Fieldhouse in Beverly Hills, Mich.

Madonna University would jump out to a four goal lead, however the Wolverines would cut the lead in half midway through the second quarter. UM-Dearborn would have to claw back in the third getting within four of the Crusaders. Madonna would control the fourth, striking six times on its way to a 15-6 win over the Wolverines.

Leading the way for UM-Dearborn was Nolan Kelley and Parker Steindl, both with two goals, while Quest Bigelow and Bryce Washington would each add one.

The setback drops the Wolverines to 2-7 overall and 0-2 in the WHAC.

Jay Rupnow would take the loss, making five saves in the game.

UM-Dearborn returns to action against the Concordia University Cardinals at 2 pm Saturday at the Detroit Country Day Outdoor Stadium in Beverly Hills, Mich.
