Wolverines fall in season-opener to Alma College, 16-13

BEVERLY HILLS, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's lacrosse team opened the 2022 regular season, playing host to NCAA DIII Alma College at the Detroit Country Day Fieldhouse in Beverly Hills, Mich.

In a contest that saw 10 lead changes between the two squads, the Wolverines and Scots found themselves tied 6-6 at the half, however, Alma College would score the final three goals of the game to hand UM-Dearborn the 16-13 loss. The loss drops the Wolverines to 0-1 on the early season.

Leading the way for UM-Dearborn was Bryce Washington with three goals and five assists, while Quest Bigelow would add a hat-trick of his own. Nolan Kelley and Brock Hunt would score two goals each, while Cameron Godin, Parker Steindl, and Joseph Atherall would each add one.

Jay Rupnow would take the loss, making eight saves in 30 minutes of play. Jack Meyers played in the second half, making seven saves.

The Wolverines return to action against William Penn at 1 PM Saturday afternoon at the Detroit Country Day Fieldhouse in Beverly Hills, Mich.
