Wolverines cruise to win over Mount Vernon Nazarene

BEVERLY HILLS, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's lacrosse team returned home, playing host to the Mount Vernon Nazarene Cougars from Mount Vernon, Ohio in a non-conference matchup.

After a back-and-forth first quarter, the Wolverines would outscore the Cougars by two in the second to take a 7-4 lead into the half. The UM-Dearborn came out on fire in the third quarter by scoring four unanswered goals to build its lead further. After a Mount Vernon response, the Wolverines would strike three more times on their way to a 14-6 victory over the Cougars.

UM-Dearborn improves to 2-4 overall on the season with the win.

The Wolverines were led by Nolan Kelley with six goals, while Mason Loudermilk and Parker Steindl would each add two. Bryce Washington would add a goal of his own while setting the program record for assists in a game with seven. Ryan Savage, Brodie Mahmud, and Joseph Atherall would also find the back of the net for UM-Dearborn.

Jay Rupnow would get the win in goal for the Wolverines, making seven saves in the game. Jack Meyers would get some action, playing the entire fourth quarter and making one save.

UM-Dearborn returns to action against Webber International at 9 PM Friday, March 18th at the Detroit Country Day Indoor Fieldhouse in Beverly Hills, Mich.
