UM-Dearborn pulls away for 17-10 win over St. Andrews

SAVANNAH, Ga. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's lacrosse team continue its strong play in Georgia with a second straight win, topping St. Andrews University Sunday in Savannah, Ga.

The Wolverines fell behind 6-4, but scored four unanswered between the second and third quarter to take the lead. UM-Dearborn outscored SAU 6-2 in the fourth to close out a 17-10 victory to even its season record at 2-2.

For the second straight game, the offense was led by Nolan Kelley and Ben Phillips, each scoring four times. Micah Rinke added three goals, while Parker Steindl scored two. Cody White, Quest Bigelow, Justin Brodzik and Joseph Atherall each scored one goal.

Jon Chaffee (1-2) made 12 saves in net for the Wolverines in the win.

UM-Dearborn led the shots 51-36, while SAU led in ground balls 40-33 and held a 17-13 advantage in face offs.

The Wolverines close their trip against No. 9 SCAD Savannah at 7 pm Tuesday in Savannah.
