NAIA honors Phillips as National Player of the Week

DEARBORN, Mich. – For the second time in program history, the University of Michigan-Dearborn men's lacrosse team picked up a weekly national award, it was announced Tuesday.

After being named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the first time in his career, senior attackman Ben Phillips was named the NAIA National Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Wolverines to wins over Point University and St. Andrews University over the weekend.

Phillips is the second Wolverine to win the NAIA offensive award, joining Devon Callaghan, who claimed the award in 2019.

The Plymouth, Mich., native paced UM-Dearborn with a program record 13 points in a win over Point, including eight goals and five assists. Against SAU, Phillips added four goals for the Wolverines.
