Ranck scores six in loss at LTU

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's lacrosse team fell to Lawrence Tech in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contest Wednesday at Farmington Hills High School in Farmington Hills, Mich.

LTU led 7-2 after the first quarter, but the Wolverines (RV) battled back to take an 11-10 lead midway through the third. The Blue Devils (RV) closed the game on a 7-1 run to take the contest 17-12. The loss drops UM-Dearborn to 1-7 overall and 1-3 in the WHAC.

Adam Ranck scored his second goal in less than a minute with 6:06 left in the third to give the Wolverines their first lead. LTU scored three times in the final two minutes of the third to regain control.

UM-Dearborn's Devon Callaghan scored his second of the game early in the fourth to cut LTU's lead to 14-12. The Blue Devils got the final three goals of the game to secure the win.

Ranck led the UM-Dearborn offense with six goals on 13 shots, while Ben Phillips and Callaghan each added two goals and two assists.

Liam Turner made 11 saves in net for the Wolverines.

UM-Dearborn returns home to host No. 10 Aquinas College at 2 pm Saturday at the Detroit Country Day Fieldhouse in Beverly Hills, Mich.
