Cornerstone edges UM-Dearborn 1-0 in Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's soccer team continued Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play against Cornerstone University Wednesday in Grand Rapids, Mich.

The Wolverines surrendered the game's lone goal in the 59th minute and the Golden Eagles held on for the victory. The loss drops UM-Dearborn to 4-7-1 overall and 3-4-1 in the WHAC.

After a scoreless first half, Joshua Busscher took a cross from Christian Galloway and put it away for Cornerstone to break the scoreless tie. Brian Ostapenko made six saves in the loss as the Wolverines were outshot 10-7.

Mohamad Anani, Brendan Petz and Vito Serra each recorded a shot on goal for UM-Dearborn.

The Wolverines remain on the road to take on No. 15 the University of Northwestern Ohio at 3 pm Saturday in Lima, Ohio.
