Adrian tops UM-Dearborn 2-1

ADRIAN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's soccer team dropped a nonconference contest to Adrian College Saturday in Adrian, Mich.

The Wolverines tied the score at one with under 15 minutes to play, but the Bulldogs found the game-winner shortly after to secure the 2-1 win. The loss drops UM-Dearborn to 1-3-0 overall this season.

Brendan Koziol got the scoring started in the first half, putting Adrian up 1-0 on a goal with an assist from Garrett Miller. Grant Baker tied the game for the Wolverines in the 77th minute with a goal on an assist from Vito Serra.

The game-winner came less than two minutes later for Adrian on a goal from Justin Tobin in the 79th minute.

Adrian outshot the Wolverines 8-6, while UM-Dearborn goalkeeper Brian Ostapenko made five saves in the loss, falling to 0-3-0 on the season in net.

The Wolverines return to action in the 2019 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference opener against Lourdes University at 3 pm on Saturday, Sept. 28 in Sylvania, Ohio.
