Indiana Tech takes two from UM-Dearborn

DETROIT – The University of Michigan-Dearborn softball team was swept in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference doubleheader against Indiana Tech Wednesday at Wayne State University in Detroit.

The Wolverines were shutout 4-0 in the opener and fell 8-1 in game two. The losses drop UM-Dearborn to 17-16-1 overall and 7-10-1 in the WHAC.

UM-Dearborn was held to five hits in the opener, as Rachel Clem and Amy Jarrett each recorded two hits in the loss. Ashlynn Henderson took the loss, pitching 4.1 innings, allowing four runs, three earned on six hits, while walking two and striking out one.

Indiana Tech stormed out to a 6-0 lead in the finale, while Haley Tiseo recorded the lone RBI of the day for the Wolverines with a double in the sixth. Madelin Skene tossed 6.1 innings, allowing eight runs, seven earned on seven hits, while walking eight and striking out four.

The Wolverines return to action against Aquinas College at 4 pm Friday at Alumni Field in Ann Arbor, Mich.
