UM-Dearborn Falls on Opening Night Against Alma College

BEVERLY HILLS, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn (0-1) men's lacrosse team dropped their first contest on the 2023 campaign as they fell to Alma College (2-0) by a final score of 12-4 on Friday (Feb. 10) at Detroit Country Day. 

 

Turnovers plagued the Wolverines all night as UM-Dearborn gave the ball up nine times. Seven turnovers in the first two periods saw the Wolverines down 5-1 at the break. Mason Loudermilk scored the season's opening goal on an unassisted goal with 1:14 left in the half. 

 

The Wolverines made it close as they scored the only two goals of the third period on two Parker Steindl goals. Steindle scored his first on the man advantage with 9:03 left in the third period. Steindl buried his second of the period on a Joseph Atherall assist to pull the Wolverines within two. 

 

Alma would score five answered goals in the fourth quarter to put the game out of reach. Ryan Savage scored the fourth and final goal for Dearborn with 7:25 to play, but Alma would add on two more before time expired to take a 12-4 victory. 

 

Jack Meyers (0-1) got the nod in net for the Wolverines and made eight saves.
