DEARBORN, Mich.— The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's hockey team returned to action with a weekend series against the Concordia University Cardinals on Friday night at the Arctic Coliseum in Ann Arbor, Mich. and on Saturday night at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.

After a scoreless first period, the Cardinals would connect on the power-play and would add another nine minutes later to push their lead to two. Brendan West would give the Wolverines a much needed goal in the closing minutes of the second as he would find the back of the net with the lone assist going to Billy Brock.

Despite outshooting Concordia University 16-7 in the final frame, the Cardinals goaltender Anthony Seykora stood tall, preventing the Wolverines from tying the game and helped his team secure the 2-1 upset of UM-Dearborn.

Kayden Pickles continued his strong play, making 23 saves in the losing effort. Pickles saw his shutout streak come to an end in the game with it lasting 158:41 of game action.

The Wolverines looked to respond the following night, but would once again find themselves down one heading into the third period. West would tie the game with his second of the weekend with an assist going to Chance Mathews. However, Concordia University would strike two more times in a three-minute span to put the game away, earning a 5-3 win and securing the series sweep of UM-Dearborn. Brock and Adam Groat would record the other goals for the Wolverines, while Mathews would finish with two assists and Max Hartwell and Blake Petterle would both add one.

Cardinals goaltender Zachary Janis would earn the win making 44 saves, while Kayden Pickles made 18 saves in the loss for UM-Dearborn.

The two losses drop the Wolverines to 15-9-2 overall and 13-6-1 in the WHAC

UM-Dearborn returns to action against with a weekend series against the Rochester University Warriors at 7 PM Friday night at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse and at 7 PM Saturday night at Fraser Hockeyland in Fraser, Mich.
