DEARBORN, Mich.— The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's ice hockey team returned to action against with a home-and-home weekend series with the Indiana Tech Warriors on Friday and Saturday.

Friday night saw the Wolverines jump out to a 3-0 lead after one, however the Warriors would score five unanswered to complete the comeback and earn a 5-3 victory. 

Colin West, Billy Brock, and Levi Young all connected in the opening frame for the Wolverines, however the Warriors would rely on four goals from four different scorers, before Brandon Plummer would add an empty netter in the final minute, for his second of the game. 

Brendan West, Johnny Elias, and Mikhail Khudenko would all record an assist, while Brenden Gutekunst would play strong in his first career start, making 41 saves on the night.

The Wolverines would respond on Saturday night, getting on the board just 15 seconds in and would add two more in the second on their way to a 3-2 win and a series-split with Indiana Tech.

Adam Groat opened the scoring, putting in a rebound off of a Kieran O'Connell shot from the point. Billy Brock would add the secondary assist on the goal. The Warriors would respond midway through the second when Cole Barney found the back of the net with an unassisted effort. UM-Dearborn would respond quickly, as Johnny Elias would knock in a rebound from a Mikhail Khudenko shot and Jared Lee would add another from Brendan West, giving the Wolverines a two-goal advantage. Indiana Tech would cut the lead to one late, however UM-Dearborn would emerge victorious.

Wolverine goalie Eric Polzin stole the show in his first career start, making 36 saves in the winning effort.

The series split moves UM-Dearborn to 4-6-0 overall and 2-2-0 in the WHAC.

The Wolverines return to action with a home-and-home series against the Aquinas College Saints on Friday, Oct. 29th (@AQ) and Saturday, Oct. 30th (@UM-D).
