WOLVERINES HONOR THREE ON SENIOR NIGHT

The Wolverines honored three senior student-athletes in a ceremony following the game, as Shayla Smalls (SR/Canton, MI), Christina Oakley (SR/Novi, MI) and Bri Alspaugh (SR/St. Louis, MI) each played their final contest for UM-Dearborn.

The match was close through the first two sets, with LTU edging UM-Dearborn 25-21 in the first and second. The Wolverines led late in the third, but the Blue Devils rallied to close the match with a 26-24 win. The loss concludes the UM-Dearborn season at 9-16 overall and 1-13 in the WHAC.

Erin Parrinello (JR/Westland, MI) was a force on offense for the Wolverines, finishing with 15 kills and a .333 hitting percentage. She added eight digs, two solo blocks and two block assists on defense.

In her final match for the Wolverines, Smalls finished with seven kills. Junior Jayci Forster (JR/Belleville, MI) added seven kills for UM-Dearborn. Sophomore Daniella Barile (SO/Plymouth, MI) recorded a team-high 18 assists, while freshman Sabrina Giacomini (FR/Plymouth, MI) added 15.

On defense, junior Heather Roberts (JR/Flint, MI) finished with 18 digs, while Caitlyn Carlson (JR/Armada, MI) added 12. Oakley was strong at the net with four block assists, while junior Katherine Nealy(JR/Southfield, MI) added three.
