The Wolverines and Warriors traded sets with UM-Dearborn coming out on top in the fifth to pick up a key road win. The set scores were 25-23, 17-25, 25-10, 19-25, 15-11. The win moves UM-Dearborn to 4-5 overall and 1-2 in the WHAC.
Senior Shayla Smalls (SR/Canton, MI) set a new career high with 23 kills, while finishing with a .296 hitting percentage in the win. Junior Erin Parrinello(JR/Westland, MI) recorded 13 kills, while freshman Gina Giacomini (FR/Plymouth, MI) added 11. Daniella Barile (SO/Plymouth, MI) led the Wolverines in assists with 33 and Sabrina Giacomini (FR/Plymouth, MI) posted 16.
Freshman Samantha Nash (FR/Roseburg, OR) had a strong match on defense with a team-high 19 digs, while Heather Roberts (JR/Flint, MI) finished with 18.
The Wolverines finished with 57 kills, 28 errors and a .184 hitting percentage.
UM-Dearborn returns home to take on No. 22 Madonna University in a WHAC matchup Wednesday at the Fieldhouse in Dearborn.
