UNOH TAKES WHAC CONTEST FROM UM-DEARBORN

After dropping the opening set, the Wolverines rebounded for a win in the second, but the Racers closed the match out in four with wins in the third and fourth. The set scores were 25-12, 19-25, 25-17, 25-19. The loss drops UM-Dearborn to 4-7 overall and 1-4 in the WHAC.

Junior transfer Erin Parrinello (JR/Westland, MI) led the Wolverines in kills with 11, while seniors Shayla Smalls (SR/Canton, MI) and Bri Alspaugh (SR/St. Louis, MI) added seven each. Sabrina Giacomini (FR/Plymouth, MI) recorded a career-high with 27 assists getting the start at the setter position for the Wolverines. 

Heather Roberts (JR/Flint, MI) had a team-high 13 digs for UM-Dearborn, while Samantha Nash (FR/Roseburg, OR) added 12 digs. Katherine Nealy (JR/Southfield, MI) led the Wolverines at the net with one solo block and three block assists. 

Megan Richwine led the Racers with 15 kills, while Stephanie Hanewold added 14 kills. 

The Wolverines return home for two WHAC matches this weekend starting with a contest against Aquinas College at 7 p.m. at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.
