The Wolverines dropped the first two sets but had three set points in the third. The Saints scored the final five points of the match to close out the three-set win. The loss drops UM-Dearborn to 4-8 overall and 1-5 in the WHAC. The set scores were 25-21, 25-14, 26-24.
Erin Parrinello (JR/Westland, MI) finished with a team-high nine kills for the Wolverines, while Shayla Smalls (SR/Canton, MI) added seven and Gina Giacomini (FR/Plymouth, MI) recorded six. Sabrina Giacomini (FR/Plymouth, MI) got her second straight start at the setter position, finishing with 23 assists. Junior Libero Heather Roberts (JR/Flint, MI) had a team-high 10 digs, while junior Katherine Nealy (JR/Southfield, MI) added two block assists.
The Wolverines totaled 28 kills and 18 errors on 91 attacks, finishing with a .110 hitting percentage.
The Saints were led by Maddie Ingraham with 10 kills, while Payton Klein and Kristin Danielson each added nine. The Saints are now 9-8 overall and 5-2 in the WHAC.
The Wolverines have a quick turnaround, hosting No. 14 Cornerstone University at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Fieldhouse.
