Olivia McKellar Scores, Wolverines Lose 2-1 Against UNOH

DEARBORN, Mich.-- The University of Michigan-Dearborn (1-4-1, 0-3-0) women's soccer team scored late in their contest against the University of Northwestern Ohio Racers (4-5-1, 1-1-0) but couldn't find a late equalizer losing 2-1 on Saturday (Oct. 1) at Star International Academy.

Both teams created scoring chances in the first half but could not push anything across as both teams headed into the locker room without a goal on the scoresheet.

The Racers wasted no time changing that as they beat the outstretched arms of the Wolverine goalkeeper and made it 1-0 in the 51st minute. 28 minutes later, UNOH increased their lead to two when Patricia Gomez slotted one into the top left corner to give the Racers some insurance.

The Wolverines brought it within one in the 86th minute when Sam Kuszynski fired one on the net. The Racer goaltender could not corral it, and Olivia McKellar put back the rebound to make it 2-1 UNOH. The Maize & Blue could not manage anything else, ending in a 2-1 final.
