Wolverines and Golden Eagles Play to Scoreless Draw

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn (1-4-2, 0-3-1) women's soccer team earned their first points in WHAC play in a scoreless draw against Cornerstone (4-4-2, 1-2-1) on Wednesday (Oct. 5). Amber Festian made four saves in the game to preserve the draw.

The first 45 minutes saw both teams struggling to get any successful build-up play. Only one save was recorded by either side in the opening half.

Both teams came out of the locker room, creating scoring chances as 11 saves were recorded in the second half. Morgan Faryniarz had a substantial scoring opportunity to open up the half, but the shot sailed past the left post.

The best chance came in the closing minutes when Brooke Mcclure put a header on frame, but the Golden Eagle keeper denied the opportunity and preserved the draw.
