HOWELL, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn (2-4-2, 1-3-1) women's soccer team needed just one goal on Saturday (Oct. 8) to earn their first conference victory over the Cleary Cougars (3-6-0, 1-4-0) at Lake Trust Stadium.

The Wolverines outshot the Cougars 12-8 and forced the Cougars to make eight saves compared to the two that Amelia Strochine faced on the night.

The Wolverines controlled much of the contest resulting in the 64th-minute goal from Emmi Pinkowski, who deposited the Gabriella Teems pass into the back of the net.

The Wolverine defense was strong all night, fighting off Cougar chances and needing just one save from Strochine in each half.
