UNOH rallies to clip UM-Dearborn in OT

LIMA, Ohio – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's basketball team dropped an overtime battle to the University of Northwestern Ohio in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contest Wednesday in Lima, Ohio.

The Wolverines led by six in the closing minutes, but two late 3-pointers from UNOH sent the game to overtime. The Racers took control early in the extra frame and held on for a 63-59 win, snapping UM-Dearborn's three-game win streak.

The loss drops the Wolverines to 7-14 overall and 5-7 in the WHAC with nine games remaining in the regular season.

Five Wolverines finished in double figures, led by 14 from senior Mafiaion Joyner off the bench. Joyner shot 5-of-10 from the field and added eight rebounds.

Junior Cody Kegley added 12 points, while sophomore Jason Gigliotti, sophomore Jalen Paul, and freshman Zach Lattimer each finished with 10 points.

UM-Dearborn shot 21-of-57 from the field, 6-of-21 from deep and 11-of-16 from the line.

UNOH was led by Willis Mackey Jr. with a game-high 25 points on 11-of-13 shooting. He added 13 rebounds for a double-double.

The Wolverines return to action against WHAC foe Concordia University at 3 pm Saturday in Ann Arbor, Mich.
