Concordia tops Men's Basketball 70-57

DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's basketball team continued Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference action against Concordia University Saturday at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.

The Cardinals used a 15-1 run early in the first half to pull away and led by double digits the rest of the game, topping the Wolverines 70-57. The loss drops UM-Dearborn to 2-8 overall and 1-3 in the WHAC.

The Wolverines were led by another double-double from senior Mafiaion Joyner, who finished with 18 points and 13 rebounds, both team highs. The double-double is the third straight and fifth of the season for Joyner.

Cody Kegley and Zach Lattimer each finished with nine points off the bench, as the duo combined for five 3-pointers. Jason Gigliotti added six points and six rebounds.

UM-Dearborn shot 20-of-58 from the field, 6-of-23 from deep and 11-of-19 at the line, while being outrebounded 35-30.

Dakota Bostic led the Cardinals with 17 points, while Paul Zysk added 14 points and six rebounds.

The Wolverines travel to Lawrence Tech for a WHAC game at 8 pm Wednesday in Southfield, Mich.
