UM-Dearborn defeats UNOH 76-56

DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's basketball team broke through with its first Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference win of the season, earning a convincing victory over the University of Northwestern Ohio Tuesday at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.

The Wolverines pulled away early in the second half on the strength of strong outside shooting to cruise to a 76-56 win over the Racers. The win pushes UM-Dearborn 2-7 overall and 1-2 in the WHAC and snaps a six-game skid.

Xavier Crofford led the Wolverine offense with 21 points on 9-of-17 shooting while adding four rebounds. Sophomore Jason Gigliotti finished with 15 points and seven rebounds, while Mafiaion Joyner added a double-double with 10 points and 14 rebounds. Sharpshooting freshman Zach Lattimer came off the bench to finish with 13 points, including three 3-pointers.

The Wolverines shot 31-of-73 from the field, 8-of-23 from deep and 6-of-12 from the lines, while recording 21 assists and seven turnovers. UM-Dearborn won the rebounding battle 45-38.

Nathan Lessing led the Racers with 13 points, as UNOH was held to 20-of-60 shooting from the field.

UM-Dearborn returns to action against Concordia University at 3 pm Saturday, Dec. 1 at the UM-Dearborn Fieldhouse.
