11 Different Players Score as Men's Basketball Wins

Detroit, MI - The men's basketball won their second consecutive game on Saturday defeating the Marygrove College Mustangs 85-75. Michigan-Dearborn (11-11, 6-8) used a balanced scoring attack as 11 different Wolverines scored. Marygrove (3-19, 3-11) had four of their starters score in double digits but their bench only scored four points. The Wolverines dominated the glass outrebounding the Mustangs 56-38.

After trailing for the first ten minutes of the game, Michigan-Dearborn took a one point lead just past the halfway point of the first half. After the two teams went back and forth for the next four minutes, the Wolverines ended the half on a 21-11 run to take a 10 point lead at halftime. In the second half, Michigan-Dearborn battled through some shooting woes to maintain a double digit for almost the entire half. Marygrove cut the lead to eight points but it was too little too late as freshman Khary Fanning's dunk as time expired gave the Wolverines the 85-75 win. Junior Marcus Williams led the team with 18 points and 9 rebounds while sophomore Jason Penn added 13 points. The men's basketball team will next host Lourdes University on Wednesday at 7:30pm.
