Men's Basketball Opens the Season with a Victory

Lansing, MI - The men's basketball team traveled on Wednesday night to take on Great Lakes Christian College. The team came away with an 88-70 victory.

Four freshman reached double figures in their first collegiate game. Alex Hagel had a game high 19 with 7 rebounds, Xavier Crofford had 18 points with 4 assists, Jason Penn scored 17 and 7 rebounds, Khary Fanning had a double-double scoring 14 points and grabbing 10 rebounds, and freshman Mike Donatelli added 11 points. The Wolverines led by as many as 20 but could not extend the lead more than that. Michigan-Dearborn executed very well on the offensive end lead by the calming presence of freshman point guard Xavier Crofford who did a great job getting the team into their offensive sets.

The men's basketball team will host Roosevelt University on Sunday at 4:00pm at the field house.
