Slow Start Dooms Men's Basketball

Fort Wayne, IN - The men's basketball team headed to Fort Wayne, Indiana on Saturday and spotted the Indiana Tech Warriors 13 points just four and half minutes into the game. Senior Paul Standtke's lay-up ended the 13-0 run for the Warriors. Michigan-Dearborn (4-4, 1-2) would cut the lead to six points with just over three minutes left in the first half, but Indiana Tech (4-2, 2-1) would utilize an offensive rebound for a basket and then score a late three-pointer giving them a 30-19 lead at halftime.

In the second half, the two teams exchanged baskets for a while before Indiana Tech slowly kept extending the lead. With just over six minutes left, the Warriors led 65-43. Much like the team's previous game against Davenport, the Wolverines fought hard until the end. Michigan-Dearborn would end the game on a 13-2 run but came up short losing 67-56. Freshman Xavier Crofford led the Wolverines with 14 points while freshman Alex Hagel added 10 points and 9 rebounds. The men's basketball team has an exhibition game Monday night against the University of Detroit-Mercy at 7:00pm at Calihan Hall.
