Dearborn, MI - The men's basketball team continued its hot start to the season with a 79-47 win over the Great Lakes Christian College Lakes. Michigan-Dearborn (3-0) set the pace early jumping out to an early 14-5 lead . The Lakes would pull within two points just past the halfway point of the half and then the Wolverines started firing on all cylinders. Freshman Xavier Crofford had nine points in the last eight minutes of the first half giving Michigan-Dearborn a 41-26 lead at halftime. The Wolverines shot 56% in the first half with Crofford leading the way with 15 points.
In the second half, Michigan-Dearborn held Great Lakes Christian to just 24% shooting from the field and continued to shoot well shooting 49% in the second half. Crofford led the Wolverines with 17 points while sophomore Jason Penn added 14 points. The team also got some contributions from freshmen Malik Bazzi who had 11 points and Alex Hagel who added 10 points. The men's basketball team will travel to Bethel College this weekend for a two games. On Friday, they will play Bethel at 6:00pm and then take on Goshen College Saturday at 1:00pm.
