UM-Dearborn stalls in 1-0 loss to Aquinas

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's soccer team battled through the rain against Aquinas College in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic contest Wednesday in Grand Rapids, Mich.

The Wolverines held the Saints' offense down for most of the game, but a first half penalty-kick goal for Aquinas stood up, as UM-Dearborn fell 1-0. The loss drops the Wolverines to 3-7 overall and 1-5 in the WHAC.

Peter Brandenberg netted the penalty kick for the Saints in the 28th minute to put his team on top with the only goal of the game.

UM-Dearborn got a strong start in net from Tristan Johnson, who made five saves, as the Saints took 17 shots to three from the Wolverines. Richard Hodnicki recorded the lone shot on goal for UM-Dearborn.

The Wolverines continue down the stretch in the WHAC season against Lawrence Tech University at Noon on Saturday. The game is a home contest for the Wolverines, but will be played at LTU.
