No. 6 Racers run away from Wolverines

BRIGHTON, Mich. - The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's soccer team fell behind by a pair of goals early and could not recover in a loss to No. 6 University of Northwestern Ohio Wednesday at the Legacy Center in Brighton, Mich.

The Racers got a pair of goals from Luca Mastrantonio in the first 16 minutes and tacked on three more, with one just before the break and two shortly after halftime to top the Wolverines 5-0. The loss drops UM-Dearborn to 2-6 overall and 0-4 in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference.

Tristan Johnson (FR/Taylor, MI) got his first start of the season in net for the Wolverines. He made six saves in the loss as UNOH outshot UM-Dearborn 36-1. The lone Wolverine shot came from Matt McCourt (SR/Trenton, MI).

UM-Dearborn continues WHAC action against Siena Heights University at 7 p.m. Friday in Adrian, Mich.
