Early Wolverine lead fades in loss to Cardinals

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's soccer team failed to hold a two-goal advantage, falling to Concordia University in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference matchup Saturday in Ann Arbor, Mich.

The Wolverines got a pair of early goals from Alek Vasilevski (SR/Shelby Township, MI), but failed to hold on as Alex Vtzovski scored three straight for the Cardinals to pull Concordia in front. The loss drops UM-Dearborn to 2-5 overall and 0-3 in the WHAC.

Vasilevski got the Wolverines on the board with a goal at the 6:10 mark of the first half on an assist from Richard Hodnicki (JR/Southgate, MI). Vasilevski found the net again 10 minutes later to give UM-Dearborn the 2-0 lead. The first half concluded with two-straight Concordia goals to tie the contest at 2-2 going into the half.

The teams battled through the tie until Concordia found the game winner off the foot of Vtzovski with less than five minutes to play in regulation. The Wolverines were outshot 24-9, while UM-Dearborn goalie Dylon Da Silva (SO/Canton, MI) recorded eight saves in the loss.
