WBB Weekly Notes: UM-Dearborn looks to rebound in return home

FULL GAME NOTES

DEARBORN, Mich. - The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's basketball team is looking to rebound after three straight road losses with a pair of Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference games this week at the Fieldhouse.

This Week's Schedule

2/1/17: Lawrence Tech at 5:30 P.M.

2/4/17: Marygrove at 1 P.M.

Team Update

After dropping three games on the road against three of the top teams in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference, the UM-Dearborn women's basketball team is looking to get back in the win column with a pair of home contests over the next few days. The Wolverines lone game last week turned into a one-sided affair in the second half as No. 20 Indiana Tech nearly tied the WHAC record for made 3-pointers in a game with 16. The Wolverines played right with the Warriors through the first 18 minutes, but a run to end the first half and another coming out of the break was too much for UM-Dearborn to rebound from. The Wolverines have won two of their last four games at the Fieldhouse and look to build on that recent success against Lawrence Tech and Marygrove College this week.

Who's Hot

Jeorgia Jones (FR/Detroit, MI) held the Wolverines close with Indiana Tech early on in the UM-Dearborn loss last week. Jones scored a team-high 16 points as the lone Wolverine in double figures, while adding five rebounds and four assists. Jones leads the team in total points and is second in scoring average with 8.6 points per game. She is also averaging 4.2 rebounds per game and is making 41 percent of her field goal attempts.

History

The Wolverines are looking to avenge early-season losses to LTU and Marygrove. UM-Dearborn fell 66-51 at LTU and dropped a contest in Detroit to Marygrove 76-46 just before the holiday break.
