Four Wolverines Recognized in Volleyball All-Conference Honors

DEARBORN, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn volleyball team had four individuals honored in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Volleyball All-Conference Honors. The league announced on Thursday (Nov 9). Sydney Eggleton highlighted the honors with her second consecutive First Team All-Conference accolade. 

 

Eggleton, a senior from Southfield, Mich., was awarded First Team All-Conference after posting career-highs in Kill per set, Kill percentage, Aces, Digs per set, and Points per set. Eggleton ranked fifth in the conference in kills during conference play. 

 

Kenzie Mertz was named Second Team All-Conference. The Wolverines Libero was third in the conference in digs per set. Mertz was also third in total digs with 388, with four fewer sets played than the individuals in front of her. Mertz recorded only 24 reception errors during the conference season while posting over 400 receptions. 

 

Brooke Wetherill received Second Team All-Conference accolades for the second consecutive year. Wetherill finished third in the conference in total blocks and second overall throughout the season. Wetherill finished the season with 216 kills and a kill percentage of .272 to round out her senior campaign. 

 

Freshman Marisa Fetterley was named to the All-Newcomer Team after a breakout freshman season. Fetterley tallied 142 kills in 84 sets and a kills per set of 1.69. Fetterley registered a kill percentage of .177 with 75 total blocks and 192 points on the season. 

 

Emily Buck received the team's Champions of Character Award for the second consecutive season.
