Wolverines drop tough 1-0 contest to LTU

RIVERVIEW, Mich.- The University of Michigan-Dearborn women's soccer returned to action against Lawrence Tech in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference matchup Wednesday at Gabriel Richard High School in Riverview, Mich.

The Wolverines and the Blue Devils battled the elements on a windy, rainy night that saw a competitive first half end in a scoreless tie. The second half started off in a similar fashion as both teams were in search of the go-ahead goal.

LTU's DiOnna Hill netted the tiebreaker in the 73rd minute and held on for a 1-0 victory. The loss puts UM-Dearborn's record at 1–5-0 and 0-2-0 in the WHAC.

Junior goalkeeper Jordan Anheuser had yet another strong showing in goal for the Wolverines making 11 saves in the contest. The Wolverines were outshot 19-13 while the Blue Devils had the advantage in corner kicks, 4-1.

UM-Dearborn returns to action Saturday against Cleary University at noon at Gabriel Richard High School.
