Wolverines with strong showing at Ray Bullock Invitational

UPLAND, Ind. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn cross country program was back in action at the Ray Bullock Invitational hosted by Taylor University on Friday in Upland, Ind.

Competing in an 8K race, the Wolverine men placed fourth out of 10 qualifying schools, while the women finished seventh out of nine in a 5K race.

A trio of freshmen led the Wolverine men as John Romeo Gaton, Ryan Exell and Jarrett St. John finished 13th, 14th and 16th out of 118 runners. Gaton led the way with a final time of 27:07.7.

For the women, Victoria Hebda placed just outside the top-10, finishing 13th out of 131 runners with a final time of 19:19.5. The sophomore topped her season best by nearly 23 seconds.

Rebecca Bradsher finished 35th at 20:21.4, while Julia Cercone, Kayla Dela Cruz and Marina Goocher were next for the Wolverines.

The Wolverines return to action at the Lansing Invitational on Friday, Oct. 5 in Lansing, Mich.
