Polzin Collects WHAC Defensive Player of the Week Honors

DEARBORN, Mich.-- Eric Polzin of the University of Michigan-Dearborn men's ice hockey team was named WHAC Defensive Player of the Week for his performance during the week of January 2nd. 

The junior netminder from Livonia, Mich., recorded a shutout in his first action since October after recovering from injury. Polzin stopped 26 shots in a 4-0 victory over No.24 Concordia (MI). 

Polzin flashes 1.71 goals against average, and a .954 save percentage, both tops on the team. 

Polzin and the Wolverines will be back in action on Friday (Jan. 13) at home against Aquinas. The puck drops at 7 pm at the UM-Dearborn Ice Arena.
