After falling behind 1-0, Michigan-Dearborn freshman Adam Valentine tied the game at 41:50. The score remained tied until early in the second half when freshman Denny Szczechowski got a rebound and knocked it in the goal for the 2-1 lead. Rochester College would then take control of the offensive zone firing 12 shots in the second half, of which 6 were on Wolverines junior goalkeeper Erick Beas. Beas made some great saves, but eventually at 72:58 Rochester College's Romario Georgi tied the game. The game looked to be heading to overtime, but Rochester got a late penalty kick, and Fred Prest shot it past Beas for the 3-2 win.
