Men's Soccer Defeats Rochester College 5-0

Southfield, MI - The men's soccer team finished the week just how they started it - with a shutout. On Tuesday, the team defeated Cleary 3-0, on Saturday they knocked off Rochester College 5-0 at the Lawrence Tech Classic. Five different Wolverines scored in the victory. Senior Alek Vasilevski continued his hot streak by scoring the game's first goal 18 minutes into the first half. Fellow senior Kosai Zaya would score 6 minutes later giving Michigan-Dearborn a 2-0 lead at halftime.

It did not take long for Michigan-Dearborn to extend the lead to 3-0. Just under two minutes into the second half, senior Mario Konja scored an unassisted goal giving the Wolverines the 3-0 lead. Senior Chris Porreca and freshman Fedaa Saleh would finish the scoring giving Michigan-Dearborn the 5-0 victory. Junior goalie Aaron Johnson made four saves in the shutout. Vasilevski and Konja each had a goal and an assist in the win. The soccer team will travel to Concordia on Saturday for the team's first WHAC game of the season at 4:00pm.
