Aquinas Shuts Out Soccer

Grand Rapids, MI - The men's soccer team travelled to Grand Rapids on Saturday looking for a road conference win against the Aquinas Saints. Coming off a 4-4 tie on Wednesday, the Wolverines were looking for a win on Saturday. Just 18 minutes into the game Aquinas got on the board as Aldony Mendes shot one past junior goalkeeper Erick Beas for the 1-0 lead. Michigan-Dearborn had 7 shots in the first half but could not score as the score remained 1-0 at halftime.

Michigan-Dearborn continued to put pressure on Aquinas in the second half firing 9 shots, with 4 being on goal, but they could not get one past Aquinas goalkeeper Ty Vandepoel. The Saints would score two late goals in securing the 3-0 win. Beas made three saves in the loss. The men's soccer team will look to get back on the winning track on Tuesday when they play host to the Siena Heights Saints at 3:00pm at the Legacy Center in Brighton.
