Soccer Comes Back to Tie Indiana Tech

Brighton, MI - The men's soccer team took on the Indiana Tech Warriors Wednesday afternoon. Indiana Tech (3-6-1, 0-3-1) scored twice in a minute a half span midway through the first half to take a 2-0 lead. Less than two minutes later, freshman Adam Valentine scored off senior Alek Vasilevski's corner kick to pull the Wolverines within one goal. Michigan-Dearborn (3-6-1, 1-3-1) could not keep Indiana Tech off the board as the Warriors Brennan Cochran put one past junior goalkeeper Aaron Johnson to give Indiana Tech a 3-1 lead at halftime.

The second half saw a different Michigan-Dearborn team as they put the pressure on Indiana Tech and scored early in the second half. Vasilevski scored just two minutes into the half. The game would remain 3-2 until junior Michael Bojovic tied the game with just over 22 minutes left in regulation. That set the stage for sophomore Richard Hodnicki, who took a pass from Vasilevski, and headed it in for the 4-3 lead. Unfortunately, the lead would not last long as just a minute and a half later, Indiana Tech would score. The Wolverines had a chance late but time expired. In overtime, Johnson shined has he made two crucial saves as Indiana Tech put the pressure on in overtime. The game ended in a 4-4 tie. Vasilevski ended the game with one goal and two assists giving him six goals on the season. Johnson made seven saves in the game. The men's soccer team will head to Grand Rapids on Saturday to take on the Aquinas College Saints at 7:00pm.
