DEARBORN, Mich. – The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference announced Monday that University of Michigan-Dearborn freshman Mikayla Borg has been named the WHAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week.

The award is the first for Borg in her career and comes after she led the Wolverines at The Master's Invitational Saturday in Santa Clarita, Calif.

Borg was the first Wolverine across the finish line for the first time in her young career in an event that featured some of the top cross country teams in the NAIA. She finished the 5K in a time of 19 minutes, 51.1 seconds.

The Wolverines return to action at the Louisville Classic hosted by the University of Louisville Saturday in Louisville, Ky.
