Wolverines compete at Rumble in the Fort

FORT WAYNE, Ind, – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's and women's cross country team were back in action at the Rumble in the Fort hosted by Purdue-Fort Wayne on Friday in Fort Wayne, Ind.

The men's team finished fourth in the 8k race, topping Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference rival Indiana Tech, while the women's team finished fifth in a 5k.

Sophomore Jarrett St. John led the way for the Wolverine men with a time of 27:49.90, which landed him an eighth-place finish overall. The race was the first for St. John as the top UM-Dearborn finisher.  

Reigning WHAC Newcomer of the Year Ryan Exell finished in 11th place with a time of 28:06.90 followed by Josh Mussen, who finished in 12th with a time of 28:12.50, and Demetrius Johnson, who finished in 14th with a time of 28:26.80.

For the women, Victoria Hebda took 16th with a time of 20:34.20. Kylie Callison finished 21st with a time of 20:59.70. Freshmen Riley Day and Emily Warrington, along with junior Camryn Zurawski finished next for UM-Dearborn, placing 25-27.

The Wolverines travel to the west coast for The Master's Invitational hosted by The Master's University, Sep. 28 in Santa Clarita, Calif.
