Wolverines Compete at Jayhawk Invitational

MUSKEGON, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn cross country program was back in action at the Jayhawk Invitational hosted by Muskegon Community College in Muskegon, Mich.

The Wolverine men competed in the 8K race, placing fifth out of 20 schools. The Wolverine women participated in the 5K race and were fifth out of 19 schools.

Leading the way for the men once again was Ryan Exell, who after becoming the first Wolverine to ever break the 26-minute mark in the 8K race last week, broke the school record for the second consecutive event. He finished 20th with a final time of 25:20.25.

Jarrett St. John, John Romeo Gaton, and Owen Rowader were next for the Wolverines.

For the women, Victoria Hebda led the way, finishing the 5K in 33rd place at 19:25.47. Julia Cercone was next at 19:51.03 and Rebecca Bradsher at 20:18.69.

The Wolverines return to action next at the Great Lakes Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 20 in Grand Rapids, Mich.
