Cross Country competes at NAIA Great Lakes Challenge

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn cross country teams competed at the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge, a preview of the upcoming Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Championships, Saturday at Riverside Park in Grand Rapids, Mich.

The Wolverine men finished 14th out of 19 teams, while the women took 20th at the event, one of the largest NAIA races in the nation.

Ryan Exell, the reigning WHAC Male Runner of the Week, led the Wolverine men, finishing 38th in a time of 26:27.51. Owen Rowader was 45th with a time of 26:38.88, while Jarrett St. John was 67th in 27:05.77.

Reigning WHAC Female Runner of the Week, Victoria Hebda, led the UM-Dearborn women, placing 59th in a time of 19:44.13, while Julia Cercone was 73rd with a run of 20:05.03.

The Wolverines have two weeks off to prepare for the WHAC Championships on Saturday, November 3 at Riverside Park in Grand Rapids.
