Softball honored with WHAC awards

DEARBORN, Mich. – University of Michigan-Dearborn softball recently completed the 2021 season with several players receiving honors from the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference this past Wednesday.

Madelin Skene and Makenna Millhorn were named to the All-WHAC First Team, while freshman Shae Scott was named to the All-WHAC Second Team.

Skene finished the 2021 season batting .349 with one home run, 11 RBIs, 18 runs scored and eight stolen bases, while playing strong defense at third base. Millhorn led the team with a .356 batting average, adding one home run, 17 RBIs, and 11 runs scored.

Scott had an impressive debut season in 2021, closing the campaign with a .342 batting average in 23 games.  She recorded 27 hits, five doubles, one home run, seven RBIs, and nine runs scored.

Other honors for the Wolverines included Audrey Asgarally, Melissa Charbonneau, Amber Cheplick, Holly Kimes, Gina Liss, Caitlyn Mauser, Millhorn, Skene, and Haley Tiseo being named to the WHAC All-Academic Team, while Charbonneau was also named to the Champion of Character Team.
