Wolverine men finish 5th at WHAC Championships

ALLENDALE, Mich. – The University of Michigan-Dearborn men's cross country team competed at the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference championships Saturday at Allendale High School in Allendale, Mich.

The Wolverines (RV) finished fifth as a team, the best showing in program history at the event, led by a third-place performance from sophomore Ryan Exell. UM-Dearborn finished with 101 points, while Cornerstone University won the team title with 61.

Exell crossed the line in 25 minutes, 54.5 seconds earning All-WHAC First Team honors, while teammate Josh Mussen was 11th in 26:14.9, earning a spot on the All-WHAC Second Team. The all-conference awards are the first in program history for the Wolverines.

Josh Williams was 25th for the Wolverines, while Jarrett St. John and Alec Teodori finished 30th and 32nd respectively.

UM-Dearborn will now wait to find out if members of the team will qualify for the NAIA National Championships in two weeks. Qualifiers will be announced next week.
